IBM has long been the tech brand that operates behind the scenes. while other tech companies tout themselves publicly, always coming out with the next new consumer product that we don’t really need, ibm is working to help companies, big and small, operate on a day-to-day basis.
working with companies to use blockchain to help reduce poverty and pollution, using ai and watson to help people manage their diabetes, and creating schools to help involve minority groups in tech, are just some examples of how ibm works to better the world.
So we came up with “dear tech”, an open-letter to the tech industry where we acknowledge the advancements tech has made and helped us create, but are asking for more. smartphones and gadgets are great, but what about gender and racial diversity in tech? what about climate change, bias in ai, employees working in sweatshops?
here, we ask for more from the tech industry.
it helps that we got to work with such amazing people, such as Janelle monae, tarana burke, buzz aldrin, mayim bialik and so many other trailblazers, ALL REQUESTING THE SAME THING OF TECH: LET’S EXPECT MORE FROM TECHNOLOGY.
ALL IN ALL, WE CUT 20 TOTAL SPOTS, EACH WITH SPECIFIC MESSAGING AND TAILORED TO DIFFERENT AUDIENCES. BELOW ARE JUST A FEW.
